Privacy Policy

Effective date: March 22, 2026

1. Introduction

Appraiso LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Wyoming limited liability company, operates the Appraiso mobile application and website at appraiso.app (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a unique identifier and, optionally, your name and email as provided by those services.

Photos and Images

When you scan an item, the photo is uploaded to our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2) for AI analysis. Images are processed solely to identify and appraise your item. Uploaded images are retained temporarily for processing and are not used for AI model training or any purpose other than delivering your scan results.

Usage Data

We collect anonymized analytics data including scan counts, feature usage, and app performance metrics via Firebase Analytics. This data is not tied to your personal identity and is used solely to improve the Service.

Device Information

We automatically collect certain device information when you use the Service, including device model, operating system version, app version, and general performance metrics. This information is used for diagnostics and to improve compatibility.

Crash and Error Reports

We use Firebase Crashlytics and Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs. These may include device model, OS version, and stack traces. This data helps us identify and fix bugs.

Subscription Information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, RevenueCat processes your subscription and retains transaction identifiers to manage your subscription status. All payment information (credit card, billing address) is handled directly by Apple through the App Store — we never receive, store, or have access to your payment details.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • To process your scans and deliver appraisal results
  • To manage your account and subscription
  • To improve and optimize the Service
  • To monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends
  • To detect and prevent technical issues
  • To send transactional communications (account confirmations, security alerts)
  • To comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Services

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We share data with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the Service. Each provider receives only the minimum data required to perform its function:

  • Supabase — Authentication and user data storage (receives: email, account ID)
  • Firebase (Google) — Analytics and crash reporting (receives: anonymized usage data, device info, crash logs)
  • Sentry — Error tracking and performance monitoring (receives: error data, device info)
  • Cloudflare R2 — Temporary image storage (receives: uploaded photos)
  • RevenueCat — Subscription management (receives: anonymous user ID, transaction identifiers)
  • Google Gemini AI — Item identification and analysis (receives: uploaded photos for processing). We use Google's paid API tier, under which images submitted for analysis are processed per Google's API terms and are not retained by Google for model training

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing data handling. We do not share your personal data with any third parties for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.

We may also disclose your information if required by law, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.

5. Data Retention

We retain your data as follows:

  • Account information — retained for as long as your account is active
  • Uploaded images — stored temporarily for processing and automatically deleted. Images are not used for AI model training
  • Scan history — retained for as long as your account is active and deleted upon account deletion
  • Subscription data — transaction identifiers retained by RevenueCat for the duration of your subscription and as required for refund/dispute resolution
  • Anonymized analytics — aggregated, non-identifiable usage data (e.g., total scan counts, feature usage trends) may be retained indefinitely as it cannot be tied to any individual
  • Crash reports — retained for up to 90 days for debugging purposes

You can delete your account at any time through the App (Settings > Manage Profile > Delete Account). Upon deletion, your personal data (account information, scan history, and uploaded images) will be permanently removed within 30 days, unless retention is required by applicable law, court order, or to resolve pending disputes or chargebacks.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure token storage (iOS Keychain), and server-side authentication. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

7. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a data breach that compromises your personal information, we will notify affected users in accordance with applicable state and federal laws. Notification will be provided via email and/or in-app notice as promptly as practicable, and no later than required by law.

8. Tracking Technologies & App Tracking

App Tracking Transparency

We do not use Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) or any advertising tracking frameworks. We do not track you across other apps or websites. Our use of Firebase Analytics collects only anonymized, aggregate data and does not require App Tracking Transparency (ATT) authorization.

Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control

Our website does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" (DNT) browser signals or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals, as there is no universally accepted standard for how to respond to such signals. However, we do not engage in cross-site tracking of our users.

Cookies

Our website (appraiso.app) may use essential cookies for basic functionality such as session management. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies on our website.

9. Third-Party Links

The Service may display links to third-party websites and online marketplaces (such as eBay, Amazon, and Google Shopping) as part of your scan results. These links are provided for informational purposes only.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, content, or security of any third-party websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party site you visit. Clicking a third-party link does not imply our endorsement of that site or its practices.

If you access the Service from outside the United States, please be aware that your data will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your country of residence.

By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and acknowledge that your data will be processed in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable U.S. law.

13. Nevada Privacy Rights

Under Nevada Senate Bill 220, Nevada residents have the right to submit a verified request directing us not to sell their personal information. As stated in this policy, we do not sell your personal information. However, if you are a Nevada resident and wish to submit such a request, you may contact us at [email protected].

14. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such data, we will delete it promptly.
